Life is Great, So Damn Great

Appreciating life.

This post is an unfiltered stream of consciousness. If you're expecting to read about software or startups, or even anything remotely insightful, then I'd recommend skipping this one.

Today I woke up and I feel great. Life is good. I don’t have any specific reason why, it’s more that I’m just glad to be alive. I love this world, and all the crazy, special people who live in it. We’re all here together for a short amount of time, guests at a quick potluck dinner party on a small rock hurling through the cosmos, so why not enjoy it?

I believe everybody here is genuinely a kind person, and that it’s only through unfortunate circumstances that people do unfortunate things. Life is great, we’re all here together, so let’s enjoy each other’s company. I love my friends. I love my work. I feel happy. I feel content. I genuinely believe this what it feels like to be human. I love waking up early. I love dancing. I love caffeine in the mornings. I love drinking water. I love laughing with friends under starry California skies.

I love people. I love people so damn much. They’re so interesting. I love old people, I love young people, I love people my age. Everyone has a story and I love hearing them tell it. We’re all interesting in our own special ways. We’re all so different, yet deep down we’re ultimately the same. We all want the same things — kindness, respect, and love. While our upbringing shapes who we are to an unimaginable degree, we can still become anyone we want.

We’re here to make the world a better place. We’re here to improve people’s lives, to make them happier, to help them get what they want and need. We’re here for such a short amount of time, and we can’t waste a single minute doing things we don’t intend to be doing. I love people, I seriously do. They’re so great. I love them so much.

The world is so small, and our time here is unfathomably short. So fucking short. You’re already 25% finished and you’ve barely even started. You need to move fast, do more, and be the best possible person you can. You need to make other people’s lives better; it’s your mission, your duty, your raison d'etre. I want to improve lives on a macro scale. I want to be able to significantly impact the lives of billions of people across the world. I believe I can help people live more fulfilled and content lives. I want us to enjoy each other’s company. I want us all to love each other, and to understand that none of us are inherently bad. I believe more of us should introspect and understand why we are the way we are, and whether that person is who we truly want to be, or if it’s simply the result of our environment. I love people so much.

I swear to god, I just want us all to be fucking amazing.
